Frisco, Tex., August 27, 2004 — Centennial Medical Center announced the appointment of Phil Buttell as chief operating officer. In his position as COO, Buttell will be responsible for all operational activities at the hospital established by the Chief Executive Officer and Governing Board.

Buttell comes to Centennial after more than two years as an assistant administrator and associate administrator with John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, a Tenet affiliated hospital located in Indio, California.  According to Lynn Mergen, Chief Executive Officer and President for Centennial Medical Center, “Phil’s work experience and accomplished educational background make him a real asset to all of the hospital’s patients, affiliated physicians and staff.”

Buttell received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law and his Masters of Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
