At Centennial Medical Center, we understand that sometimes the most painful part about going to the emergency room is the wait time. That’s why our ER wait time clock constantly posts the ER wait time so residents can check the average door-to-bed wait time before leaving the house.
This posted ER wait time represents a two-hour rolling average updated every five minutes. It is defined as the time of patient arrival until the time the patient is escorted into a treatment room.
This technology is designed for patients with relatively minor medical conditions. Those with serious or potentially life-threatening health problems should call 9-1-1 so they can receive life-saving measures in the ambulance while en route to the hospital. Patients are seen in priority order based on the type and severity of their medical condition. For example, those with medical emergencies, such as stroke, heart attack or traumatic injuries, are always seen immediately.
