CMC Awarded Gold & Silver for Quality Cardiac And Stroke Care
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s GWTG program is a quality-improvement program that helps hospitals ensure that patients consistently receive cardiac and stroke care in accordance with the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations.

GWTG has three modules to help hospitals use evidence-based guidelines to treat patients with coronary artery disease, stroke and/or heart failure. Hospitals that continually meet or exceed the nationally accepted standards, or guidelines, improve their quality patient care by turning guidelines into lifelines.

Upon meeting criteria specific to each module, Centennial Medical Center was recognized with a Gold Achievement Award for the treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD) and a Silver Achievement Award for the treatment of heath failure.

Award Recognitions

Hospitals receiving Get With The Guidelines Gold Achievement Award have reached an aggressive goal of treating (coronary artery disease, heart failure or stroke) patients with 85% compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology secondary prevention guidelines for 24 consecutive months, and a Silver Achievement Award recognizes adherence to guidelines for 12 consecutive months.

“Centennial Medical Center, like most hospitals that implement Get With The Guidelines, realize measurable results, including improved patient outcomes and fewer recurring events. It’s a difference that shows in the lives of our patients and their families and in the satisfaction felt by caregivers empowered to do their best,” said Joe Thomason, chief executive officer of Centennial Medical Center.
